Who we are
Boomerang HQ ("we") builds and runs call-answering assistants for small businesses. You can contact us about anything in this notice at [email protected].
What we collect and why
- Enquiries. If you email us or use the enquiry button, we receive your name, business, phone number and anything you write. We use it to reply to you and discuss our service. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, or steps before entering into a contract.
- Demo calls. If you talk to our demo assistant, the conversation is processed by speech and AI services to produce replies, and recorded and transcribed so we can check and improve the demo. Please don't share sensitive information on a demo call. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.
- Website. Our hosting provider processes basic technical data (such as your IP address) to deliver and protect the site. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
When we handle calls for our customers
When a business uses Boomerang to answer its calls, that business decides how callers' information is used and is responsible for it. We process it only on their instructions, under a written agreement. Their own privacy notice is the main source of information for their callers.
Who we share it with
We use trusted providers to run our service, each bound by data-protection terms: Google (email), Cloudflare (website hosting), LiveKit and the speech and AI model providers it connects to (voice calls), and our telephone provider. Some of these process data outside the UK, including in the EU and the US, with appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. We never sell personal information.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept while we're in discussion and for up to 12 months after, unless you become a customer. Demo call recordings and transcripts are deleted within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
